BABINEAU – Brian Edward passed away peacefully with family at his side at the Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Evelyn Babineau (nee. Broadbear) of 60+ years. Brian is survived by children Kemeny Babineau (Jessica Rodela) and Rhiannon Babineau (Andrew Orr); grandchildren Calantha Babineau, Aisha Babineau (Dominic Ciesielka), and Clea Babineau. Brian will be missed by siblings Larry Babineau (late Leone) and David Babineau (Janice) and special friends Dave, Karen, Maurice, Darlene, Sandy, Bun and Ted. Arrangements entrusted to the Thompson Mott Funeral Home, 62 Main Street N, Waterford (519-443-5332). Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the summer. SMITH – Ronald “Ron” Henry passed away peacefully at the Norfolk General Hospital with family at his side on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Carolyn Smith (nee. Chamberlain). Cherished father of Cheryl Bonin (Dan) and Rhonda Smith (John Stewart); grandchildren Marie Bonin (Anthony Abbruscato), Kelsey Bonin (Bailey Cournoyea), Lexsus Little (Philip Telfer) and Richie Little; great grandson Nox Bonin. Predeceased by his son David Smith. Visitation will be held at the Thompson Mott Funeral Home, Rev. Allan Burr officiating. Interment in Waterford Greenwood Cemetery.
Keith Earle
Keith passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 at the Brantford General Hospital. Mr. Keith Earle of Simcoe in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Joan Earle (2002). Loving father of Vicky Stewart (John) and Patty McGuire. Cherished Papa to Abbey (Sarah), Mitchell and late Hannah (2007). Predeceased by his siblings. Keith will be sadly missed by many other relatives and friends. Keith was a proud self-employed contractor in Norfolk County for over 40 years. He was Past President of the local Home Builders Association. He was very involved in the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a life member, and served in numerous roles at the Branch, Zone and District levels. Keith was a passionate member of the Simcoe and Area Youth Dart League. He was a longtime volunteer with the Simcoe Panorama.
MONTROSS, Daniel George –
Passed away peacefully at Aspira Retirement Living on Monday, November 24th, 2025 in his 85th year. Beloved father of Brian C. Montross (Jacki) of Gravenhurst and the late Craig Montross (the late Deborah). Cherished grandpa of Matthew, Grace and Andrew. Dan will be lovingly remembered by his sister Barbara and his brother David (Shirley). Predeceased by his parents Mabel E. Cook and step-father Victor Cook, his father Howard Palmerston Montross, his sister Doria and his brother Bruce.
Dan was proud to serve his community through many organizations. He was a past member of the Simcoe Kinsmen Club and the Simcoe Lions Club; a member of Masonic Lodge, Norfolk No. 10 AF & AM; a member of the Ontario Public Service Quarter Century Club; Branch 123 Waterford Legion; and a MIMA member of the Institute of Municipal Assessors of Ontario.
Family will receive friends at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. N, Simcoe on Saturday, November 29th, 2025 from 10:30–11:00 a.m., followed by a service in the chapel. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Norman Leverne Welsh
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norman Leverne Welsh, who left us peacefully on July 23, 2025, surrounded by family.Born in Scotland, Ontario, Norm was the beloved son of the late Dorothy and Mervin Welsh. He was a loving brother to Keith (Melody), Dave, Carol Toms (John), Don (Phyllis), and Ron (Gigi).
For the past 13 years, Norm shared a beautiful life with his loving wife, Debbie. A relationship that was filled with adventure, laughter, and the simple pleasures that he cherished most.
He was deeply loved by his daughters, Brooke (Edward) and Casey (Kyle), and his stepchildren, Bailey (Tim), Lauren (Brandon), and Zach.
"Grandpa Norm" will be dearly missed by his grandchildren - Kaitee, Cali, Edward, Ember, Quinn and Levi, all of whom brought so much joy to his life.
Norm spent his life proudly behind the wheel of his truck — a career he truly loved. The open road was his second home, and he took great pride in the miles he drove and the dedication he brought to his work.
He will be remembered as country-loving, warm, welcoming with a quick wit, and a captivating smile. He had a soft spot for all dogs, especially his "Ace" and late "Bandit".
Norm was truly one of a kind and will be forever loved by many.
Kennedy, Robert Gordon (Bob)
Passed away suddenly at Cedarwood Village Retirement Home on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Norma Jean Kennedy. Robert and Norma Jean were married for 37 years. Robert is survived by children Kim Bourne (Joe), Bryan Kennedy (Kelly), Cori Kennedy, Starr Kennedy, Thom Kennedy and Michelle Smith; grandchildren Brittany (Justin), Holden and Taylor (AJ); and by 3 great-grandchildren. Robert will be missed by his brother Don Kennedy (Hoo Jung).
McKeen, Jim - Associate member, Jim McKeen passed on Monday March 24, 2025, Beloved husband and best friend of Diane (Hackewich). Loved stepfather of Jimi and Tyler. Father of Matthew, and Jeffery. Grandfather of Benjamin. Dear brother of Jack (and Lenore), Jane (and the late Jim) McLeod, Kathy (and Earl) Jamieson, Peter (and Kelly), Sandra (and Bill) Roth.
POHORESKY, MAURICE – At Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the age of 86. Loving father of Wanda Hunter, Julie Pohoresky (and Ed Pajor), and Maureen (and Stephen) Holmes, the late Cathy Bernard (and Kevin Bergie). Loved grandfather of Corrie (and Chad), Kyle (and Kelly), Meghan, Sasha (and Mark), Carl, Jackie (and Brad), Mykala (and Jake), Melina (and Keith), and Kaelen. Maurice will also be missed by his 6 great grandchildren. Maurice will be fondly remembered by his brother Harold (and Karen).

MACDONALD, Grant (The Plumber) - With sadness, the family announces the unexpected passing of Grant on Tuesday, March 12th, 2024 of Waterford at age 62. Loved father of Jessica (John) and Andrew. Dearly loved brother of Wendy White, Brian (Morag) Halsey, Cathy Selkirk, Robin Holsey, Ian (Zeny) MacDonald, Drew MacDonald and Linda (Scott) Kemp. Special friend of Bonnie Major. "My Favourite Uncle" to many nieces and nephews. Grant will also be missed by an extended family and friends. Predeceased by brother Roger Halsey and sister Deborah Lesley. Grant was a proud member of the Waterford Legion and volunteered many hours at the Legion and in the community.
